Brian Brock (remove biography)Guitar, Songwriter, Recording, Music Composition, Writing Contact Website (full of sounds) I write songs and other music, play classical, acoustic, electric guitar, make recordings, and write regular words. I also try to create the website horsesaw.com, try to make comics and videos, walk dogs and cook, and do whatever other mundane things I need. I record in a ruined house. It has electricity, a large room, and a small room. It has no air conditioning, so in the summer I'm only able to use it in a limited capacity. I record using a computer, with very good mics and mic preamps, and decent software. I have a good classical guitar and a decent enough assortment of other instruments to make music - they're mostly cast-offs and strange piles of rubbish, but I'm happy enough so far. I am currently composing songs, folk-freakouts, and classical guitar music, recording a new album, and performing as it comes. Check out a large variety of music I've made or recorded in the past few years at Horsesaw.com. My most recent work consists of an album of songs and instrumental compositions, "Hail", and a classical guitar album, both in 2011. People tend to like the guitar playing on my Dylan album, "Dylan Songs and Heresies". "Marsh Marigolds" is a decent album from 2007. "Raised By Robots" is a radio opera with a seek-and-scan approach to composition. I like music by these: Tom Ze, Bill Callahan, Baaba Maal, King Missile, Cat Power, Tetsu Inoue, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Shania Twain, OP8, Missy Elliott, The Evens, Sonic Youth, Grateful Dead, Derek Bailey, Gastr del Sol, The Skatalites, Sleater-Kinney, Robert Wyatt, Bang on a Can, Glenn Branca, Desmond Dekker, Bach, Tansman, Nobukazu Takemura, Mahler, Blind Willie Johnson, Louis Andriessen, Ernest Ranglin, Mats Gustafsson, Miles Davis, Brise-Glace, Saw Horse. I used to spend about an hour a day playing songs from a complete Beatles songbook. Likewise Fred Sokolow's classical guitar book, and Frederick Noad's series of Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, and Romantic classical guitar books. I also like to listen to the radio. See my thoughts on music at the Daily Listen.
